There is a big relief, Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs Smt. Sushma Swaraj launched a new scheme, according to the scheme now People can apply for passport from anywhere in India and can even submit their application using a mobile phone device. This new scheme was launched on the occasion of the Sixth Passport Seva Divas. An applicant can now choose the RPO and the the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) (Presently, there were 307 PSKs in the country) to submit the application. The police verification would be done at the address specified on the application form. Once the process is complete, the passport would be dispatched by the RPO to the mentioned address. The passport will be printed and dispatched by the RPO selected for application submission by the applicant. Applicants are requested to visit the Passport Portal at www.passportIndia.gov.in for further details on this new scheme.
